Top 7 Tips To Succeed As A Freelancer

Despite the ever increasing popularity of the freelancing industry, not all who start this business succeed.

A lot can be given as facts behind their failure but other succeed within months and make a better living than their counterparts having day-time-jobs.

In most cases, we may think that the level of talent possessed, expertise in freelancing and popularity of others make them thrive but this is never the ultimate force behind being successful in freelancing.

Being committed to freelancing and making it more of a lifestyle than a career option is all you need in order to succeed. How do you know whether you are committed? Here are some of the traits possessed by committed freelancers;

Traits possessed by committed Freelancers

        i.  One with Plan B:

In every venture, one must be prepared for either success or failure. You must pull you resources together in making you plan A work but if it fails, you should be aware of what you are supposed to turn your efforts to. You should not be stuck in one option but rather be quick to explore other options which may seem profitable.

ii.  One who goes an extra mile in his/her projects:

Focus on doing the best for your client rather than just having it done. Work to impress and express your ability to offer not only quality but also professionalism.

iii.  One passionate about what he/she is doing:

Freelancing is a lifestyle besides an avenue to earning you a living; so, a successful freelancer enjoys what he/she does, not because of the money but because of the joy it brings after successfully doing an exquisite job. Let your niche be appealing to your emotions.

iv.  One who would not rest on nothing but success:

The determination and the purposing in one to succeed is the strongest motivation and driving force that can inspire you to success. With this, quitting is never thought of as an option as one is motivated to leave no stone unturned for the sake of success.

v.  One ready to learn:

Freelancing is all about the willingness to learn new skills and improve them to achieve success. Lifelong learners have the smoothest path to follow because they are always in need of learning more on how to be successful.

vi. One working smart:

You need not to work for extended hours in order to be successful but you need to learn how to work efficiently and managing of your time without wasting any free time.

From experience, many who started with me and seemed to have better chances of succeeding because of their talents, soon dropped out of freelancing lifestyle and went back to their day-time-work.

This became a serious red sign to my survival but I have learnt a lot since they left.

I have come to realize that those who left had low levels of tolerance to setbacks and other freelancing related frustrations.

Their business thrived when everything was smooth and working in their favor but when the strong currents and waves hit them, they sunk in frustrations and never thought of sailing again.

This was a clear sign of their lack of commitment.

You can make it as well if you are ready to embrace challenges and persevere through few frustrations which tend to test your commitment.

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this
blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s
very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appeal.
I must say that you’ve done a very good job with this. In addition, the blog loads super quick for me on Safari.
Outstanding Blog!
